On January 4th, 2020 we hosted our first fundraising workout and we couldn't be more elated. Over 40 people showed up and packed the house with outstanding energy.

Founder and Executive Director, Jess Beresford, lead class at her home studio of Orangetheory River West. Between the high fives, the aggressive "all out" speeds, and the genuine drive to be working out not just for ourselves, but for a cause... the participants were unstoppable.

More importantly, we raised over $800 for the animals of Chicago Animal Care and Control! We cannot thank our participants and the business owners enough for letting us share our passion with the public and fight for the underfunded facility that CACC is. This fundraising class sparked much needed conversations about getting involved with the shelter, what it means to become a foster, and how we, CHICAGO, can help.

In 2018, CACC successfully homed 91% of their dogs. Our goal, through classes like these, is to provide the funding and awareness that will get that number to 100% and make the time that these animals are in the shelter better for them.

This wouldn't have be possible without YOU. Thank you again for the support. Keep an eye out for more events and email weightsforthewaiting@gmail.com if you'd like to get involved.
